I appreciate your messages. ttdtt we are both wrong on the number of births per year. You got me thinking and I just checked the latest numbers. There are 131 million babies born each year and there are 55 million deaths per year for a net growth in the population of 76 million. Either way that is a hell of a lot of people that god won't have to kill if he would just do what the Witnesses have been preaching for over 100 years. If god waits 10 more years for the JW's to make sure that the good news of the kingdom is preached to all of the inhabited earth he will have another 760,000,000 people to kill. With the cart witnessing it may take more that 10 years. Tick tock, tick tock...the only problem is each year they are 76 million people to reach.

Concerning my cancer, the hard part for me was I was one of those young people in 1969 who passed on college because the end was so close. I felt invincible. I believed the lie "you will not die" because the end was so close. I had "stay alive to 75" on the bumper of my car. I think that Eve fell for the same lie from Satan. Well my grandmother thought that she would not die and she did, my mother believed that she would not die and she did, I know that I will die. Four or five generation of JW's believed that they would not die.

I am dying of cancer. Yesterday I asked my full blown JW wife if she could snap her fingers and make me well would she do so?

She replied, "Yes." Then I asked her why and she told me because she loved me. I told her that she can't make me well but God could and he won't because he doesn't give a rats ass about me. Hell, even the third president of the Witchtower Society, Nathan Knorr, died of a brain tumor. Can't you imagine the millions of prayers that were said on his behalf by the Witlesses in the 1970's and yet he died of brain cancer.

I stopped thanking God for the food I eat. Everyday 20,000 children die of starvation. Am I so blessed that God gave me food and yet doesn't provide for the 20,000 daily casualties? I am not blessed, just had a job and I live in the right country.

If God cares about mankind, why doesn't he bring on the great tribulation now? Every year that he delays there are 30,000,000 more people on the earth so there are 30,000,000 more bodies for the JW's to bury. If he would have brought it on 10 years ago 300,000,000 lives would have been saved. Let's see, there are over 8,000,000 JW's who will survive. If he loved the world of mankind so much he would have saved over 37 times more people if he started armageddon 10 years ago.

I would like to mention a pet peeve of mine. JW's believe that only they will survive the great tribulation; however, if you ask them so you are telling me that your god is going to destroy 99.9% of mankind, they will say that it is up to god who survives because only he can read hearts. So among themselves, they rub their hands together in eager anticipation of god destroying this world while they hid in their bunkers with their secret door knocks, but in public they sing a different song.

All of this just makes me sour grapes.

The younger males ones don't want the grunt work. The Witchtower Bable and Trick Society doesn't come out and say that so they want elders to pull, push, and shove the young males to force them to become ministerial servants and then after their slavehood to become an elder. It is the same principle to shame the youth to get baptized, so later on, they will have second thoughts about leaving the witnesses when their brains start to think.

Love for the Hate

i just wanted to share a perspective related to my experience with leaving the jw.

at this point, i have been df'd since i was 18. i'm 25, happily married with 2 fantastic children.

after being miserably at odds with my parents and extended family, i've come to some realizations as follows.. i struggled with the conditional nature of my parent's love- talking to me until it bothered their conscience, then cutting me off.

What gets me was how parents at the Kingdumb Hell would brag how they do not associate with a disfellowshipped child or other relative so that they may one day come to their senses and come back to Jehovah. It is never about Jehovah, it is always about getting one's family back. That is the reason one will try to get back into the cult.

they've laid off on the "armageddon will be here soon" angle and now it's all about "hope".

In reality, hope is no guarantee of something taking place or happening. Hope is the feeling of wanting something to happen and thinking that it could happen. For example, I could say that "I hope that my boss gives me a raise" or "I hope that I win the lottery." Basing the way we live our lives or shunning our family members on the mere hope of something going to happen is very shortsighted.

A brother repeated a "rumor" from the platform last night.

i seem to remember many talks and articles in the past about repeating rumors.last night before going into the book study the conductor said something to the effect, "i heard a rumor and i don't know if it's true but the rumor is that in the future we will be using only;y videos at the door.".

anyone else heard this "rumor"?.

and whats up with repeating rumors from the platform?

I liked it when it was announced that there will be a special talk from a Bethel heavyweight and the assembly hall or local auditorium was used with several congregations invited. In the 1970's boy did the rumors fly. With bated breath, we were set to focus on every word. What we heard were reports from around the world of how much growth there was and how many crocodiles and rivers are encountered by our dear brothers in Africa to go the book study. Just another special meeting to push fear, obligation, and guilt.

We would go home being disappointed and we waited for the next special talk.

JW's like the word "special" almost as much as "soon."

Oh, how I pissed away my life. I have known for years that no one is getting out of here alive.

Why do you get upset about family shunning you?

i understand people love their family but i also don't understand why you end up caring in the end.

i'm ready to leave and i 100% don't expecting my family to have any contact with me nor do i want them to contact me.

if they are going to chose a man made religion over me, that's their choice and i will sleep easy at night.

I thank God every day that my children were smarter than I was and never got baptized. I know and they know that no one is getting out of here alive.

Not one visit, 8 years in a nursing home, and not one visit!

my dad{rip}, was a faithful jw since the year i was born, i'm 60, he died 2 years ago.

his last 12 years were spent in an assisted living/nursing home right in the small town where he spent the last 8 years of being an elder/pioneer.

when he went into the home, one brother would visit him regularly, but after 4 years, that friend moved away, and visitation from the locals ceased, for 8 years!!!!!!!

The Witlesses will spend hours standing by their literature carts sipping on their lattes and going from door to door hoping that no one answers while the elderly from the hall need help with groceries and choirs and many of the "forgotten class" wither away in nursing homes realizing that they did grow old and will die. If the Witchtower Bable and Trick Sobriety would have new light and let the Witlesses count time doing the above, it would be a win-win for everyone. There is no deeper feeling of self-worth than helping someone who is truly in need of help.

The false hopes and false dreams they have are consuming the only life they have. More and more are realizing that no one is getting out of here alive.

New flip flop document - updated from last year

about this time last year i uploaded a document as part of my going away post.. as stated at the time i had to lie low, and am still doing so.

sort of.

mostly.i pop up rarely to chip in when my 'ardour comes up into my nose' about something lol, but still read the leaks and back-and-forth between the members here.

"Historical" Announcement This Week?

my daughter asked if anyone has heard anything about a 'big announcement' being made sometime this week in congregations in canada and possibly beyond... in her words "it's like a biggggg long thing, they cut out part of the book study for it and people heard it was a historical thing"... any ideas?

could it be the mexican branch closing or the theme of the convention?

or something else?

The only word that JW's use more than "soon" is "special". Special meeting, special talk, special speaker, special announcement, blah blah blah.
